Chestnut Mushrooms
Chestnut mushrooms are similar to our native field mushrooms, woody & mushroomy taste and a smooth texture. These are extremely versatile, serve with a traditional big breakfast, grilled or fried. Big chestnuts are delicious stuffed with either couscous or fried leek & goat cheese, they can even be enjoyed raw in salads.These mushroom are grown on a block of straw and compost. They should always be wiped clean with kitchen towel rather than being washed, and should always be stored in a paperbag.
